Smile & Tap's promise fits in one sentence: your photos never leave your iPhone. This page details what the app and the website do (and above all do not do) with your data.
Smile & Tap collects, stores and transmits no personal data.
Smile & Tap accesses your photo library only through the permission you grant iOS (full access or a limited selection). You can change or revoke this permission at any time in Settings › Privacy › Photos.
Detection relies on Apple's Vision framework and runs entirely on your iPhone's chip. No image and no facial « fingerprint » is ever transmitted or stored. The app detects that faces are present but identifies no one: there is no facial recognition.
By default, GPS coordinates are removed from the shared copy (adjustable in the app). Sharing then goes through the iOS share sheet: the photo becomes subject to the terms of the service you choose (Messages, Mail, etc.).
Your settings (default smiley, sharing options…) are stored locally on your device and deleted along with the app. They are neither synced nor transmitted.
smileandtap.app is a showcase website with no accounts and no forms: no cookies, no trackers, no analytics. Fonts and images are served from the website itself, with no calls to third-party services.
As with any website, our host (Netlify) may temporarily log technical data (IP address, browser type) for security and operational purposes.
Smile & Tap was built to share only the faces you choose to show, children and adults alike. True to that idea, it collects no data, about you or the people around you.
The GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification and erasure. Since Smile & Tap collects no data, there is no database to consult, but for any question, write to us: contact@smileandtap.app.
If you contact us by e-mail, your address and message are used only to reply to you; they are neither shared nor used for any other purpose.
Any change to this policy will be published on this page, with its update date. The online version prevails.
